Overview
This policy outlines the requirements and guidelines for wearing masks within our primary care practice to ensure the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
- All patients, staff, and visitors who are sick with Flu ,COVID, cough, fever, or cold-like symptoms must wear a mask covering the nose and mouth at all times within the practice.
- Masks must be worn in all areas, including waiting rooms, exam rooms, and common areas.
- Acceptable masks include surgical masks, N95/KN95 respirators, and well-fitting cloth masks with multiple layers.
- Patients and visitors are encouraged to bring their own masks.
- Masks will be provided at the entrance for those who do not have one
- All individuals must comply with this policy as a condition of entry and service.
- Staff members are responsible for ensuring compliance and may provide reminders or assistance as needed.
- Individuals refusing to wear a mask without a valid exemption will be asked to leave the premises.
- Non-compliant patients may be rescheduled for a telehealth appointment or provided with alternative arrangements.
- Patients and visitors should perform hand hygiene upon entry and after removing masks.
- Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the practice.
- Reusable masks should be washed regularly.
- Disposable masks should be discarded properly after use.
- Clear signage regarding mask requirements will be posted at all entry points and throughout the practice.
- Staff will provide verbal reminders as needed.
- This policy will be reviewed and updated regularly based on public health guidance and infection control best practices.
This policy is effective as of 01/01/2024 and is subject to change in accordance with public health recommendations.
