I have had my own episodes with "doctor-shopping" over the years, including experiences of feeling like I was being hurried out the office door, feeling unheard and sometimes humiliated. It was hard finding a provider I felt comfortable and open with. My experiences navigating healthcare as a patient were my foundational guide as I navigated my nursing career. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, I have prided myself on creating a space where people can share with me what's going on with their mind and body, so I can find solutions that work best for patients, all with the goal of providing relief and improved quality of life.
I got my nursing career started in 2010, working in a corrections facility in suburban Atlanta as a registered nurse. I moved to bedside nursing at Emory University Hospital, working with a variety of surgical patients in recovery. While working as a bedside nurse, I began my advanced practice nursing degree at Georgia State University and completed the program in 2016. As a nurse practitioner, I have practiced in a variety of settings including primary and preventative care, HIV, mental health, and sexual wellness. I joined the Druid Hills Primary Care team in 2025 and continue to work with the big-small community that is Atlanta, which has become my home.
Health and wellness are one of my passions that I not only incorporate into my personal habits but also into teaching with patients, focusing on evidence-based diet options and physical activity. Other activities I enjoy in my freetime include reading, going to the beach, and eating good food. Cheers!
